Your Dessert Can Make Its Own Chocolate Sauce

National Dessert Day is an excellent excuse to make a cake that supplies its own warm chocolate sauce. King Arthur’s Fudge Pudding Cake does exactly that, with hot coffee poured over a cocoa-and-brown-sugar topping before baking.

Yield: Eight servings
Bake: 350°F; 45 minutes in an 8-inch square pan, or 28–32 minutes in ramekins

Let it stand for 15 minutes before serving so the sauce thickens. Add ice cream or whipped cream and give Wednesday a proper ending.
