Illinois is bringing its pantry to Chicago. The first Illinois Product Expo in the city opens today with samples, shopping and the people behind the products.

Where: UIC’s Dorin Forum, 725 W. Roosevelt Road
When: Friday, October 16, noon–7 p.m.; Saturday, October 17, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
Cost: $10 advance or $15 at the door, plus fees
Tickets: Illinois Product Expo

Look for Katherine Anne Confections’ truffles, Nina’s Noms Brazilian cheese bread and Millionaire’s Roast specialty coffee. Bring a shopping bag and leave some room in it.
