Muhājir’s Duck Comes With 900 Years of History

Official Muhājir photograph showing a table spread of fish, prawns, and other dishes; this image does not specifically depict the duck.

Muhājir’s wood-fired cooking follows historic spice routes, with chef Zubair Mohajir tracing connections across South Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, and beyond.

In a new Eater interview, Mohajir explains that the duck draws on a southern Spanish recipe more than 900 years old. The current menu pairs fire-roasted breast with confit duck rice, jus, and seasonal achar. Dinner comes with rather more history than the usual reservation.
