Immm is Thai for "I'm full" or "I'm stuffed." It functions less like a restaurant name and more like an instruction manual for leaving. The guy on the sign has a look on his face that I recognize because I see it on myself every time I walk out of here.

The menu has your Thai classics if that's what you're after, but the core identity of this place is Khao Rad Gaeng culture — curry over rice. Curries stewed low and slow in pots for hours to build the kind of layered flavor you can't get from anything cooked to order. If you come here without ordering a curry, you've missed the point. Don't miss the point.

The pad thai is solid, but nothing to write home about. If you're a pad thai fan, this will satiate you.
The boat noodles are incredible. The flavor is rich, complex, and delicious.

The roe tart is a stand out.

My personal non-negotiable is the boat noodles. I order them every single time. The broth is rich and deep and so complex it almost feels thick on the tongue. There is a lot happening in that bowl and all of it is correct. The som tum passes my test, which is the only test that matters to me at any Thai restaurant. Funky, fresh, all the right flavors in balance. If you're feeling adventurous, order it Lao style or northern style. The preserved crab and fermented fish sauce take it somewhere extra funky that not everyone is ready for. Be ready for it.

The room is cute and airy, lanterns hanging from the ceiling, murals on the walls, windows that open fully on good days to pull the outside in. The patio fills up when the weather cooperates. This is right off Argyle Street, and the block has that particular Southeast Asian energy that makes the whole meal feel more like the real thing.
