Loud, lively, correct for a hangover, and carrying more Chicago history per booth than almost anywhere else in the neighborhood.

Five locations around Chicago. The cappuccino is oversized, the milk runs too hot, and the espresso is over-extracted. When a barista asks what size you want for a cappuccino, that tells you what you need to know. The baristas are trying. The training isn't there. A local Starbucks, for better or worse. Spend your money somewhere else if you have the option.

The staff are called the cast, their headshot polaroids line the wall by the register, and there's a performance stage for evening shows. Metric coffee, consistently well made. Locally sourced pastries. Beautiful space that fills up fast. One of the better places to start a morning in the neighborhood.
