A note before anything else: this is the same operation as the Roast8ry flagship a short walk away. Same roast, same standards, same baristas trained to the same world championship level. If you have been to the flagship and loved it, you already know what is in the cup here.
What is different is the room. The Coffee Lab runs warmer — more wood in the interior, softer than the raw concrete brutalism of the flagship, slightly smaller in scale. It is a little more approachable on first impression without losing any of the technical seriousness that defines the Roast8ry brand.
A perfect macchiato pour in one of their signature skull glasses.
The location puts it closer to some of Chiang Mai's larger hotels, which means the foot traffic is different. This one hops. The front patio fills up and the energy inside runs higher than the flagship on a busy day. If you want the same exceptional coffee in a livelier room with more people watching, this is the one. If you want the full brutalist temple experience, walk the extra few minutes to the original.
Either way, start with the cappuccino.
